Presented here is an original painting of the infamous snapshot of the late Muhammad Ali standing over a dazed Sonny Liston. This painting depicts the most memorable moments of the second clash between the two boxers that took place on May 25, 1965, in which Ali had knocked Liston down almost one minute-and-a-half into the very first round. This image would go on to be arguably the most recognizable in all of sports history. After this victory Ali would continue to dominate opponents to further cement his legacy.

The painting highlights the two boxers as the background fades into a dark blue with a hint of light in the center. Ali and foreman are painted using a soft brown tone that really makes the whole painting pop out at the viewer. Ali’s signature can be found under Liston inscribed “Aka Cassius Clay” in bold black ink. This painting is both matted and framed standing 26 ½ x 30 ½ inches and comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (Q04574) and JSA (X13658).
