To mark the 25th anniversary of the 1939 All-Star Game at Yankee Stadium, 39 of those former participants assembled at Shea Stadium for an Old Timers' Game—among them, DiMaggio, Foxx, Greenberg, Dickey, Grove, Cronin, McCarthy, Hartnett, Lombardi, Appling and Medwick. Many arrived a day early to attend the New York World's Fair. Following the Old Timers' festivities, Joltin' Joe himself received this presentation ice bucket made by the Thermos company. Its 3 x 2-1/2 inch plaque features a raised Mets logo ball with the engraved text, "JOE DIMAGGIO / 1939 ALL STARS / OLD TIMERS' DAY / JULY 25, 1964." Minor age wear throughout top surface of lid, otherwise EX. LOA from DiMaggio family.
