Mickey Mantle, Frank Robinson, Harmon Killebrew, Carl Yastrzemski, Al Kaline, Jim Hunter – sounds like a world-class Hall of Fame reunion fantasy, right? Actually, it's just a part of the celestial lineup revealed on this extremely rare test issue item from Topps. The "Baseball Plaks" checklist cards are prized for their bright, portrait likenesses and abundant star content, and they surface only in the most elite collections. At the time of their original distribution, one checklist was wrapped directly against a panel of three cast-plastic "Plaks" inside a package, and most of the checklist cards experienced creases from Day One. The offered collectible features generally well-maintained, full-bleed corners and edges (with a couple of very light, peripheral wrinkles), and inspires envy as a quality specimen from a very desirable issue.
