     Presented is a 1939 Baltimore Sun newspaper that features the story of Lou Gehrig’s end to his legendary consecutive game streak. Lou Gehrig, who was a seven-time All-Star, a two-time MVP, and a six-time World Series champion, had an incredible 2,130 games that he played consecutively. Unfortunately for Gehrig, he willingly sat out due to complications from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis that would ultimately force him to retire. This newspaper covered the end to his incredible run! Dated May 3, 1939, this newspaper is in great condition considering its age! There are minimal tears along the left edge of the newspaper. All 24 pages are included and each page still contains fully legible print as well as pictures. This item is a must for the ultimate Gehrig/Yankees collection.
