Rogers Hornsby had one of the most illustrious playing careers of any player active in the early 20th century. “The Rajah” has the second highest career batting average of all-time, behind only Ty Cobb. Hornsby spent his 23-year career with numerous teams, most notably the St. Louis Cardinals and Browns. Hornsby won two MVP trophies in his career and was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1942.
This item is a scorecard from the Seattle Rainiers 1951 season. Hornsby was their manager that year, leading them to a 99-68 record. The scorecard features a picture of Hornsby, which The Rajah signed in black pen. The scorecard is 9 x 6 inches and comes in a 18 x 15 inch frame. This item comes with a prior JSA Auction Letter and has been pre-certified by Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication.
