Stan Musial was one of the most consistently excellent baseball players of the mid-20th century. “Stan the Man” was named to 20 consecutive All-Star teams, excluding 1945 when he served in WWII. Musial finished his career with 3,630 hits, good for fourth on the all-time list. In a strange piece of coincidence, Musial had the same amount of hits at home, 1,815, as on the road. Musial was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1969.
This size large jersey is from the Majestic Cooperstown Collection, and is a throwback to the Cardinals home jersey from the 1940’s. It features two cardinals perched on a black bat, over red text on a black background reading “Cardinals.” The jersey has red piping and accents. “MUSIAL” is sewn on the back in red and black tackle twill, over a similarly sewn and colored “6.” Musial signed the “6” in black Sharpie, inscribing “3630” on the bottom portion of the “6.” This item comes with a PSA/DNA COA (M87044).
