     Featured is a post card of Samuel Earl Crawford. Mostly known to baseball fans as “Wahoo Sam”, Crawford had a highly decorated career beginning with the Cincinnati Reds, but was most notable for his time with the Detroit Tigers. An outfielder, Wahoo Sam was one of the greatest sluggers in the dead-ball-era and to this day still holds the MLB record for most triples in a career (306). His career culminated with a 2,964 hitss and a batting average of .309. This post card commemorates his accomplishments by including his accolades beneath his picture. Crawford has signed the bottom portion of the upper side of the post card in light green ink. On the back of the card, he has inscribed “ To Bill With all good wishes - Wahoo Sam –Thanks for the picture A future big leaguer I am sure”. It is dated December 24, 1962 and this card is in absolutely great condition with little signs of aging and little to no signs of tears or folds and measures 3 ½ x 5 ½ inches.
