The winningest pitcher of all-time, Cy Young earned an incredible 511 victories over his 22-year career. Young was one of baseball’s first big stars, beginning his career during the dead-ball era in 1880. After his death in 1955 the Cy Young award for the best pitcher in baseball, and later in each league, was established. Even almost 150 years after his birth, Cy Young remains one of baseball’s most legendary figures, a workhorse of baseball’s outlaw era.

The item offered here is a picture cut out from a newspaper of and signed by Cy Young. He is pictured sitting in a dugout during his tenure with the Cleveland. He is wearing a white, collared “CLEVELAND” jersey and a dark hat with a “C” logo. He signed this photograph in blue pen. This item has been encapsulated by PSA/DNA (83943177).
