Graded NM-MT+ 8.5 by GAI. This is the cherished debut card of the youthful future Hall of Famer. As a young hurler, Ryan was erratic with his pitches. But, what he lacked in control he made up for with speed. And who knew that after one of the longest careers in Major League history, from 1966 to 1993, he would set so many records? (Most notably, 5,714 strikeouts and seven no-hitters.) Ryan became to pitching what Lou Gehrig was to fielding and hitting, a veritable "Iron Man." This foundation piece from Ryan's great career is a superior specimen. The card's corners are next to impeccable, and its inking is robust. A very sharp Ryan rookie collectible, in Near Mint to Mint-plus condition.
