The 1999 New York Yankees helped establish yet another Major League Baseball dynasty era in team history. After already winning the World Series in both 1996 and 1998, their 1999 victory gave the Yankees three championships in four years (they would win yet another title in 2000). This would amazingly be the 25th World Series title in franchise history. The lineup featured the usual suspects: Derek Jeter (.349 average, 24 homers, 102 RBIs), Bernie Williams (.342, 25, 115), Tino Martinez (28 homers, 105 RBIs) and Paul O’Neill (110 RBIs). Five starting pitchers won at least 10 games (Orlando Hernandez, Andy Pettitte, Roger Clemens, David Cone, Hideki Irabu) and Mariano Rivera posted 45 saves with a 1.83 ERA.

The Yankees completely dominated the postseason, going a combined 11-1, including a 4-0 sweep over the Atlanta Braves in the World Series. Offered here is the rare opportunity to own a Player version of the  1999 Yankees championship ring, this one presented to bench coach Don Zimmer. The 14K ring’s face shows off a dazzling array of diamonds, a symbolic 25 of which are set to form the NY logo, which is outlined in blue. Surrounding the logo are dozens more small diamonds. The perimeter features even more diamonds along with “1999” in relief. The ring’s left shank shows the name “ZIMMER” and his number 52, which sits inside a design of the World Series trophy. An image of Yankee Stadium sits in the background and the word “TRADITION” is down below. The right side of the band displays the famed Yankees “Top Hat” logo along with the words “THE CENTURY’S TEAM” in a banner. The bottom shows a façade of Yankee Stadium and “25TH WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP”. The inside of the band is marked Balfour 14K. Ring weight is approximately 50 grams and the size is an approximate 12. This item comes with the original wooden presentation box (which displays “NEW YORK YANKEES 1999 WORLD CHAMPIONS”) along with a LOA from Zimmer’s widow, Jean.
