     The 1949 Brooklyn Dodgers once again rose to the top of the National League outlasting the St. Louis Cardinals by one game. Hall of Famer Jackie Robinson took home the National League MVP Award and pitcher Don Newcombe was the National League Rookie of the Year. 23 members of the National League pennant winning Dodgers have signed this Official National League Ford C. Frick baseball in bold black ink.

     Manager Burt Shotton signed his name “BE Shotton” on the sweet spot with the south panel having the signatures of Hall of Famer Jackie Robinson, Hall of Famer Roy Campanella, Don Newcombe, Gene Hermanski, bullpen catcher Sam Narron and Billy Cox. The north panel has the signatures of Carl Furillo, Bruce Edwards, John Jorgensen, Marv Rackley, Preacher Roe, Ralph Branca and Jake Pitler. The east panel with the “Spalding” stamp has the signatures of Eddie Miksis, Hall of Famer Pee Wee Reese, Jack Banta, Erv Palica and Paul Minner. The west panel has the signatures of Dick Whitman, Joe Hatten, Mike McCormick and Carl Erskine. The ball displays toning due to age, but the signatures and stampings are clear and crisp. This multi-signed baseball comes with a full LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication.
