The “Broad Street Bullies” Philadelphia Flyers completely ran roughshod over the rest of the National Hockey League during the 1973-74 season. Finishing with a record of 50-16-12 (good for 112 points), the Flyers finished in first place in the NHL West Division. They then skated their way through the playoffs all the way to winning the Stanley Cup, after a six-game victory over the Boston Bruins in the finals. In doing so, the Flyers became the first expansion team to win the Stanley Cup.

That Philadelphia team was loaded with talent, with four players scoring more than 30 goals – Bobby Clarke (35), Bill Barber (34), Rick MacLeish (32) and Ross Lonsberry (32). Goaltender Bernie Parent was dominating between the pipes, leading the league with 47 wins and a 1.89 ERA. Lou Scheinfeld was an original vice-president of the Flyers and later president of the Spectrum, the team’s home arena.

Presented here is Scheinfeld’s 1973-74 Stanley Cup champions 14K ring. A beautiful larger diamond is set inside the Flyers logo on the ring’s face, with a black onyx background. “STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS” can be read around the perimeter with a small diamond on each side. Total diamond weight is approximately .90 CT. A raised image of the Stanley Cup appears on the ring’s left shank, along with “PHILADELPHIA FLYERS 1974” and the NHL logo. The other side of the band bears the name “SCHEINFELD” with a V.P. crest. Also shown is “WEST DIV. CHAMPIONS”, the Flyers team record, and the Campbell Conference trophy. This rarely-offered championship ring is marked BALFOUR 14K and weighs approximately 34.7 grams and the size is an approximate 10 ½.
