Michael Jordan wore these Air Jordan IV sneakers during his incredible NBA career. The Air Jordan IV was released in 1989, during the height of MJ’s career. He was in the midst of an unbelievable stretch of years, leading the NBA in scoring every season from 1986 through 1993. The Jordan IV capitalized on his performance, and a surprise cameo in the Spike Lee film “Do The Right Thing”, to become one of the most popular editions of the most popular shoe of all-time. The Jordan IV was the second Jordan shoe designed by the legendary Tinker Hatfield, and the timeless design has ensured countless re-releases of the stunning, low-top shoe.

MJ wore the Air Jordan IV during several key points of the 1989 NBA season. He debuted the shoe during the 1989 All-Star break, where it instantly became a hit. Later on in the season, MJ wore a black colorway of this shoe when he hit “The Shot” in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference First Round in ’89. One of the lasting images from this moment is Jordan levitating over Craig Ehlo, the soles of his black Air Jordan IV’s lifted high above the Richfield Coliseum floor. This was the first game-winning shot in the playoffs that MJ hit in his career, and “The Shot” remains a large part of Jordan’s storied legacy.

These Air Jordan IV shoes are white, with a black, gray, and white midsole. Parts of the top of the shoe are made off white mesh. Black plastic lace fasteners are included on the bottom and top of the tongue. A patch with a red Air Jordan logo is sewn on each tongue. The back of the shoe features a concrete gray plastic patch with “Nike Air” applied in black. The gray patch extends slightly above the heel of the shoe. The sole features a gray, white, black, and red pattern with “Nike” and a Nike swoosh applied in red. These shoes show excellent signs of use. There is some cracking in the midsole and heel, but the body of the shoe is in very good condition. This item comes with a LOA from Mears, who have graded these sneakers Authentic.
