Plaxico Burress was one of the heroes of Super Bowl XLII, a modern classic that saw the New York Giants topple the undefeated New England Patriots by a score of 17-14. Burress, the Giants leading receiver that season, hauled in the game-winning touchdown catch on a 13 yard toss from Eli Manning with 35 seconds left on the clock. With one catch, Burress entered football lore, toppling a team that was vying to finish the only undefeated season since the 1972 Miami Dolphins.

The first item offered here is a Wilson football branded with the Super Bowl XLII logo and signed in silver marker by Burress. Burress added his number “17” as an inscription to his signature. This football comes with a COA from JSA (S31918).

Additionally, a Pittsburgh Steelers mini helmet signed by Burress is included. The Steelers were Burress’ first NFL team, selecting him with the eighth overall pick of the 2000 NFL Draft out of Michigan State. Burress played with the Steelers until 2004, twice eclipsing the 1,000 receiving yard mark. He signed the side of the helmet with the Steelers logo in silver pen, adding a number “80” to his signature, his digits with the Steelers. This helmet comes with a COA from JSA (S31919).
