Presented here are four player contracts from the lengthy career of postseason hero Don Larsen. The first contract is Larsen’s agreement to play the 1963 season with the San Francisco Giants for a salary of $19,000. Larsen went 7-7 with the Giants in 1963, saving four games and compiling a sterling ERA of 3.05. Both Larsen and Charles S. Feeney have signed this contract in blue pen. The second contract, for the same salary, is Larsen’s 1964 deal with the Giants. Larsen pitched in six games with the Giants in 1964 before his contract was purchased by the Houston Colt .45’s. This contract has been signed in blue pen by Larsen and black pen by Feeney.
The third contract is Larsen’s 1968 agreement to play for the Tacoma Cubs of the Pacific Coast League. At 38 years old, this was Larsen’s final season in professional baseball. He appeared in six games, allowing three earned runs for a 3.86 earned run average. The final contract, also from 1968, is Larsen’s agreement to play for the San Antonio Missions of the AA Texas League. Larsen pitched in nine games for the Missions. Each contract comes with a LOA from Steiner Sports.
