In 2010, Jim Leyland was presented with the Myron Cope Legend in Sports Award. Named after the legendary Pittsburgh Steelers broadcaster, the award is bestowed upon athletes, broadcasters, or people who have positively impacted Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and the surrounding area. This award was presented to Leyland on November 9th, 2010, at the Hickory Lions Club Sports Dinner. The wooden award is circular, and features two raised bats and a baseball.
