In order to qualify for the 1960 US Olympic boxing team, Cassius Clay had to defeat Allen Hudson, a hard-hitting boxer several years his senior. Clay, later known as Muhammad Ali, encountered surprising difficulty in the Hudson fight as he hit the canvas in the third round. But just seconds later, Ali rose and countered with a hard right, sending Hudson crashing into the ropes. Although Hudson recovered the refs had seen enough, declaring Clay the winner by TKO. This win sent Ali to Rome, where he claimed the gold medal in the light heavyweight tournament, setting him on the path to be one of the greatest athletes in world history.

This full ticket is for the Clay-Hudson bout, which was held at the Cow Palace in San Francisco on May 18th, 1960. It has been encapsulated by SGC (8345036-002), who have deemed it an authentic ticket.
