Recently elected Hall of Famer Ivan Rodriguez was arguably the premier catcher in the late 1990s and during the 1997 and 1998 seasons to which this offered Young Y17 model bat dates to, Rodriguez hit 41 home runs, had a 168 RBI and batted a solid .317.

This Young Y17 model bat was used by Rodriguez during the 1997 and 1998 seasons and displays outstanding use. The bat is un-cracked and has several ball marks, stitch impressions present throughout the barrel. There is heavy coating of pine tar on the upper handle and lower barrel The handle has been taped in a spiral pattern to enhance the grip. Rodriguez’s initials “IR” and the bat’s model number “Y17” have been stamped onto the knob. Rodriguez has signed his name in silver marker on the barrel. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B14597) and has been graded a near perfect GU 9. There is also a LOA from two-time American League MVP Juan Gonzalez, who in his LOA states that this bat was gifted to him and has been part of his private collection. There is also a COA from PSA/DNA (AD28253) for the signature.
