Texas Rangers third baseman Hank Blalock wore this glove during the 2003 All-Star Game, his first of two appearances in the Midsummer Classic. Blalock made his only plate appearance in the bottom of the eighth inning, replacing Troy Glaus to hit against Eric Gagne with Vernon Wells standing on second and the American League down by one. Blalock cranked the go-ahead home run on a 3-1 pitch, putting the American League up for good, 7-6, and handing Gagne his only blown save of the 2003 season. Blalock played third base in the top of the ninth inning, as Keith Foulke forced Paul Lo Duca, Luis Castillo, and Rafael Furcal to pop out to the outfield to end the game.

Blalock wore this Rawlings PRONP5TLB model glove during his fielding appearance in the 2003 All-Star Game. A Rawlings tag is sewn on the wrist, and a circular Rawlings logo is sewn on the back of the thumb. “Hank Blalock” is embroidered in red on the back of the thumb. The glove shows extensive evidence of wear, including a large rip on the palm. Blalock signed the back of the index finger in silver marker, inscribing “2003 All-Star Game Glove” on the back of the middle finger slot. This item comes with a COA from PSA/DNA (AD28246) and a LOA from MEARS for game use.
