Longtime MLB second baseman Bret Boone wore this offered glove in 2000, his only season with the San Diego Padres. Boone, who would become an integral part of the 116-win Seattle Mariners the next season, hit 19 home runs with 74 RBI during his lone season in San Diego. Bret, the son of Bob and grandson of Ray Boone, played 14 seasons in the Major Leagues, making three All-Star teams and winning four Gold Glove awards.
This Rawlings glove is a Pro 2001-1 model, and was worn by Boone in 2000. The web is a single post double T-bar, and a Rawlings tag is sewn on the wrist. A circular Rawlings logo is sewn on the back of the thumb next to “Bret Boone” embroidered in black. “Gold Glove Series” is stamped in black on the pinky slot. This glove displays evidence of excellent use, and is accompanied by a LOA from PSA/DNA (1G00400).
