Hall of Fame pitcher Pedro Martinez wore this black and blue batting helmet during the 2008 MLB season, his final year with the New York Mets. A three-time Cy Young Award winner, Martinez finished with a 5-6 record in 2008 before pitching his final season in 2009 for the Philadelphia Phillies. This helmet is made of metallic blue and black high-impact plastic, with a black, white, and orange Mets logo decal applied to the forehead. A MLB logo is applied to the back of this Rawlings right-handed helmet, while “PEDRO” labels have been applied to the brim and the back of the vented helmet. The entirety of the padding on the inside of the helmet is intact. This item comes with a MLB Authenticated hologram (LH 045891), which states that it was removed from play after the Mets and Phillies game on September 5^th, 2008.
