Hall of Fame catcher Ivan Rodriguez wore this catcher’s mask during the 1998 All-Star Game. This game, which took place at Coors Field, was fittingly the highest scoring All-Star Game in MLB history, finishing 13-8 in favor of the American League. “Pudge” started the game, finishing 3-4 with an RBI before Sandy Alomar replaced him as a pinch hitter in the seventh inning.
This mask has a red facemask, with tan padding and red straps. A Rangers logo is emblazoned on the chin, while a gold, black, and red “All-Star” tag is sewn on the back strap. Rodriguez signed this facemask in black fine-tip marker, inscribing “MVP 1999 #7”, as well as writing “Colorado 1998 All-Star Game”, “Pudge”, and “#7 Ivan” on various sections of the tan padding. This item comes with a LOA from JT Sports for game use, a LOA from Juan Gonzalez, and a LOA from SGC (AA03112) for the signature and inscriptions.
