Grinding center Orest Kindrachuk was a key member of the famed “Broad Street Bullies” Philadelphia Flyers teams of the early 1970s, anchoring a fearsome third-line with his pugnacious teammates Dave “The Hammer” Schultz and Don “Big Bird” Saleski. Kindrachuk made a two-game cameo appearance during the 1972-73 season but played a crucial role for the Flyers during their back-to-back Stanley Cup winning years in 1974 and 1975, scoring 72 points between the two seasons. Kindrachuk played six seasons for the Flyers before a trade sent him to the Pittsburgh Penguins, where he served as the team’s captain for three campaigns. Kindrachuk retired after spending the 1981-82 season with the Washington Capitals.

Presented here is a plaque given to Kindrachuk in honor of his 20th goal of the 1975-76 season. Kindrachuk scored this goal during a 6-1 home victory over the Detroit Red Wings on March 6th, 1976 at the Spectrum. This shield-shaped wooden plaque measures roughly 15 x 10 ½ inches, and has a puck mounted near the bottom. A plaque with a photograph of Kindrachuk, and a plaque with “Orest Kindrachuk / 20th Goal / Spectrum / March 6, 1976 / Flyers 6 / Detroit 1”, are affixed to the plaque. This item comes with a LOA from Kindrachuk.
