Boston Red Sox catcher Sandy Leon wore this stars and stripes road jersey during the Red Sox 11-4 victory over the Texas Rangers on July 4th, 2017. Although Leon did not appear in this game, the Red Sox nevertheless chased Rangers starter Yu Darvish after only 4.1 innings, tagging him with 11 hits and seven runs. This jersey has “BOSTON” sewn across the chest in blue and red tackle twill with a patriotic pattern inside the letters. A Red Sox logo patch is sewn on the left sleeve, and an American flag patch has been sewn on the right. A stars and stripes vinyl MLB logo has been applied to the back outside collar. “LEON” is sewn across the back shoulders in red tackle twill, and his number “3” is sewn beneath that in blue and red tackle twill with a similar patriotic pattern. The sides and lower back of this jersey are made of a gray mesh fabric. A Majestic size “48” tag has been applied to the front left tail of this jersey. It comes with a MLB Authenticated hologram (JC 369295), which states that the jersey was taken out of play after the July 4th game, however it is likely that this jersey was worn during at least the previous game on July 3rd.
