On October 7th, 1984, Walter Payton broke the great Jim Brown’s all-time rushing yards record with a sterling performance against the New Orleans Saints at Soldier Field. Payton rushed for 154 yards and a touchdown as the playoff-bound Bears trounced the Saints 20-7. As his career continued on, Payton left Brown’s record of 12,312 yards in the dust, increasing his own mark to 16,726, a record that has since been broken only by Emmitt Smith. This ticket stub has been encapsulated and graded a VG 3 by PSA/DNA (25890113), the highest grade for any stub in the PSA/DNA population report.
