Presented here are two signed tickets from Carl Yastrzemski’s 3,000th hit game. The Red Sox played the Yankees on September 12th, 1979 at Fenway Park, winning by a score of 9-2. Yastrzemski’s milestone hit came in the bottom of the eighth inning against Jim Beattie, with the legendary left fielder and first baseman lacing a single to right. Yaz was immediately lifted for a pinch runner and given a much deserved curtain call at the only ballpark he ever called home. He has signed both of these ticket stubs in blue marker. The first ticket stub has been inscribed “3000 Hit” and has been encapsulated and the signature graded a GEM MINT 10 by PSA/DNA (27183251). The second ticket stub is inscribed “3000 Hits”, and has been encapsulated and the signature graded a GEM MINT 10 by PSA/DNA (27183243).
