Derrick Thomas was one of the best defensive players in football history, setting an NCAA record with 27 sacks during his 1988 season at the University of Alabama. Thomas was drafted in the first round of the 1989 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs, who he played for until 2000, when a tragic car accident cut short his career, and later his life. Thomas was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2009, and the College Football Hall of Fame in 2014. 

Thomas used this red and white travel duffle bag during his time at the University of Alabama. Numerous tags are still present on the bag, and a large placard has “55 Thomas” written in big red letters. This bag shows outstanding wear.
