Presented here is a first day cover signed by Mickey Mantle that dates to 1951, the Mick’s rookie season. Mantle split the year between AAA Kansas City and the Yankees, appearing in 96 Big League games. Mantle hit a respectable 13 home runs, with 65 RBI and a .267 batting average as a 19-year-old rookie. He shared outfield duties with Joe DiMaggio, in his final season, and helped the Yankees claim yet another World Series title that postseason. The rest, as they say, is history, with Mantle embarking on one of the most impressive baseball careers of the century. He has signed this first day cover in black pen. It has been encapsulated and authenticated by PSA/DNA (83513358).
