Chicago Cubs ace hurler Jake Arrieta has signed this Official World Series Robert D. Manfred Jr. baseball. The 2015 Cy Young Award winner in the National League, Arrieta was an integral part of the Cubs staff in 2016 as they ended their famous World Series drought with a shocking comeback against the Cleveland Indians. Arrieta was the winning pitcher in Games 2 and 6 of the World Series, striking out 15 batters over 11.1 innings and recording a 2.38 ERA. He has signed this ball below the 2016 World Series logo, on the panel to the south of Commissioner Manfred’s stamped signature. Arrieta inscribed “2016 WS Champs”, using a blue pen to write both his signature and the inscription.
