This Official Major League Allan H. Selig baseball was used during Chipper Jones’ 400th career home run game, a home contest against the Florida Marlins. Jones finished the game 4-5, launching his milestone home run in the bottom of the sixth inning against Marlins starter Ricky Nolasco. Jones’ performance raised his batting average to a stratospheric .418, and although he did not equal Ted Williams’ 1941 campaign at the end of the season, the veteran third baseman nevertheless won the MLB batting title with a .364 average. This baseball shows good evidence of use, and is accompanied by a MLB Authenticated hologram (BB 766766).
