The 1956 World Series was both a rematch between the New York Yankees and the Brooklyn Dodgers, as well as the last all-New York “Subway Series” until 2000. The Yankees won the Series in seven games, taking their 17th championship. Brooklyn won Games 1 and 2, New York pitchers threw five consecutive complete games (Games 3-7) to complete the comeback. The highlight of this World Series being Don Larsen’s perfect game in Game 5 with the series tied at two games apiece. Larsen was named the World Series MVP for his excellence and this was also the last World Series to date not to have scheduled off days. This lot comprises of two official programs for each teams’ respective fans, and the New York Post covering the results of the 1956 World Series. This lot is an excellent piece of baseball history and addition to any baseball fan’s collection.
