Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Pat Jarvis wore this road jersey during the Braves 1967 campaign. Jarvis, a second year player, won the most games of any Braves pitcher that season, finishing with a 15-10 record and a respectable 3.66 ERA for the 77-85 Braves. The season before, Jarvis became the first ever strikeout victim of Nolan Ryan, going down during a September 11th, 1966 contest against the New York Mets. Jarvis would play a total of eight Major League seasons, all but one with the Braves, winning 85 games and maintaining a career ERA of 3.58.
This gray flannel, button down road jersey has “Braves” sewn across the chest in red and navy blue tackle twill. Jarvis’ number “33” is sewn on the back of the jersey in red and navy blue tackle twill. A Braves “Screaming Brave” patch is sewn on the left sleeve. Navy blue piping accents the chest and collar of the jersey. A MacGregor size “44” tag is sewn on the back inside collar of the jersey. A MacGregor “Set 1 1967” tag is sewn on the front right inside tail of the jersey along with a faded washing instructions tag. Jarvis has signed the chest of this jersey in blue marker, adding the inscription “1966-1972”, his years with the Braves, below his signature. According to noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema, who has provided an LOA for this jersey, the “appliqué [is] different on [the] team name and numbers, however no apparent number change is evident”. This jersey shows moderate use and comes with a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication for the signature.
