Presented here is a letter signed by H. John Heinz III, a Pittsburgh-born Senator who perished tragically in an aviation disaster above Merion Station, Pennsylvania at the age of 52. In this letter, Heinz, the heir to the ketchup fortune of the same name, discusses the plight of the Lithuanian people in response to a letter from “Ms. Anna Kliza Wargo”. Dated to 1981 and printed on official United States Senates letterhead, Heinz has signed this letter in blue pen. Also included in this lot is the envelope this letter was sent in, as well as a copy of Heinz’s statement on the Lithuania situation. This item comes with a COA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (C84538).
