Spanish painter Salvador Dali is an artist as well known for his spectacular paintings as his eccentric personality. The artist of The Persistence of Memory, Dali’s mind-bending, surrealist paintings captivated the attention of the art world during the 20th century.

The item offered here is a loan agreement between Dali and the Gallery of Modern Art in New York City. Dali agrees to loan the gallery his 1950 painting The Battle, which is valued at $10,000, according to this agreement. Dali has signed this loan agreement with his full name in blue pen. Below his signature, Dali added the date “1-4-65” to his signature. This incredibly rare item comes with a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (A86006).
