Offered is an extremely rare jersey from the mid 1940s from Leonard Bellis, a defensive end on the 1944 and 1945 Tennessee Volunteers football team. The 1944 team had an impressive 7-1-1 record and the 1945 squad improved to an 8-1 mark. This offered home jersey was worn by Bellis during the 1944 and 1945 seasons. Manufactured by Athletic House Sporting Goods of Knoxville, TN, this all-orange jersey features Bellis’ number “33” sewn on in white felt on the front and back. The jersey has long sleeves and built-in elbow padding and thin horizontal darker orange stripes along the front shoulder and torso cuts. This size 44 jersey displays moderate use and there are several moth holes present. The numbers on the back of the jersey are partially loose but still intact. This jersey comes with a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema.
