This is a "key" card from Play Ball's first color set – produced during the same year its subject won the American League MVP (over Ted Williams and his .406 average) and hit safely in 56 straight games. Moderate, generally peripheral wear does not impose upon the piece's pleasing aesthetic, and a faint mark at the bottom edge poses minimal distraction. Good-plus condition.
