Offered here is a photograph of Dick Williams greeting President Lyndon Johnson after the 1967 baseball season. Williams was the manager of the “Impossible Dream” Boston Red Sox, the winners of the American League pennant thanks to a furious late season comeback. Red Sox stars such as Carl Yastrzemski and George Scott are also in this 10 ½ x 8 inch photograph, while Joe DiMaggio is partially in frame. This photograph features the caption “To Dick Williams / Who engineered an upset any politician would envy” and Johnson’s black marker signature. This item comes in a 14 ½ x 11 ½ inch photograph, and is accompanied by a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (A86018).
