Williams was the manager of the “Impossible Dream” Boston Red Sox, the winners of the American League pennant thanks to a furious late season comeback. Red Sox stars such as Carl Yastrzemski and George Scott are also in this 10 ½ x 8 inch photograph, while Joe DiMaggio is partially in frame. This photograph features the caption “To Dick Williams / Who engineered an upset any politician would envy” and Johnson’s black marker signature.
