After winning 99 games during the 1996 season, the Cleveland Indians were unceremoniously bounced in the first round of the playoffs, three games to one, by the Baltimore Orioles. After such a disappointing end to their season, the Indians set out to redeem themselves heading into 1997. While they won fewer regular season games in 1997 (86 victories), they again won the AL Central and carried high hopes into the postseason, one which would turn out much different results than the previous year. First, the Indians defeated the New York Yankees to reach the ALCS, where the Orioles awaited. Exacting revenge against Baltimore, the Indians took the ALCS, four games to two, to win the American League pennant. Eventually, Cleveland would lose a seven-game World Series to the Florida Marlins. The Indians were led during the season by a slew of offensive weapons, including Jim Thome (40 home runs, 102 runs batted in), David Justice (.329 average, 33 HRs, 101 RBIs), Matt Williams (32 HRs, 105 RBIs), Manny Ramirez (.328, 26 HRs) and Sandy Alomar (.324 , 21 HRs).

Presented here is a Jostens 10K gold 1997 Cleveland Indians American League Championship ring that features a unique home plate shaped face, with five round diamonds set inside a smaller home plate, and additional diamonds lining the outside (125 points in diamonds total). Around the perimeter in relief lettering reads “CLEVELAND AMERICAN LEAGUE CHAMPIONS”. One shank features images of the Indians logo and home stadium, Jacobs Field, along with the year 1997 and “FULL HOUSE”. The opposite shank shows the name “DiBIASIO”, the team’s script logo and the World Series logo. Manufacturer and 10K marks appear inside the band. This ring is approximately a size 10, weighs an approximate 38.4 grams and comes with owner's original purchase LOA.
