Longtime MLB relief pitcher Sid Monge wore this jersey in 1976, during his rookie season with the California Angels. Monge appeared in 32 games, starting 13, while compiling a 6-7 record and maintaining a strong 3.35 ERA. Included in this collection are Monge’s jersey, pants, and cap from the 1976 season. This gray pullover road jersey has “Angels” sewn across the chest in red and navy blue tackle twill, with a yellow halo over the “A”. Monge’s number “43” is sewn on the chest and back in red and navy blue tackle twill. The state of California logo patch is sewn on the left sleeve. A Rawlings size “44” tag with attached “Set 1” and “1976” flags is sewn on the front right tail of the jersey. Monge signed the “3” on the back of the jersey in black marker, adding the inscription “Game Used 1976” to his signature. Monge’s Pro KM size 7 ¼ cap is also included. Monge signed the top of the brim in black marker, adding the inscription “Game Used” to his signature. Finally, Monge’s 1976 road pants are included. Monge signed the right buttock in black marker, adding the inscription “Game Used 1976”. This lot is accompanied by a LOA from Sid Monge.
