In 2001, the Seattle Mariners put together one of the greatest regular seasons in baseball history, winning 116 games behind the play of American League MVP Ichiro Suzuki and a cadre of outstanding supporting players. Freddy Garcia, Jamie Moyer, Aaron Sele, and Paul Abbott each won over 15 games, and Lou Piniella’s men claimed the American League West Division title by a comfortable 14 games. This base was used during the first game of the 2001 American League Division Series, where the Mariners found themselves matched up with the Cleveland Indians. Although the Mariners lost Game 1, they recovered to claim the series in five games. This base comes with a MLB Authenticated hologram (GT 037809).
