Recently retired slugger Carlos Beltran went out on top. As a member of the Houston Astros during his final season of 2017, he and the club won their first World Series title. With 435 career home runs and 2,725 career hits, odds are that Beltran will be enshrined in Cooperstown when he becomes eligible in 2023. Beltran spent six plus seasons with the New York Mets and offered in this lot are various game used items that include a jersey, pants, hat, batting gloves, belt and wrist band, all while playing for the Mets.

The button-down Majestic Cool Base size 46 black alternate jersey is from the 2011 season and specifically dated to the May 12th game against the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field in Denver where Beltran belted three home runs and had six RBI to lead the Mets to the 9-5 victory. This jersey features “Mets” across the chest in blue, white and orange shadowbox tackle twill. Beltran’s number “15” is sewn on the center left in the same color pattern. Blue piping runs around the collar and down both sides of the buttons and on each sleeve end. “BELTRAN” and his number “15” are sewn on the back in blue, white and orange shadow box tackle twill. Beltran signed his name in silver marker between his name and number on the back. The left sleeve has the Mets Cityscape logo sewn on above the white embroidered Majestic logo and the Majestic tag is screen-printed on the bottom front left tail. The jersey comes with a MLB Authenticated hologram (FJ476131) and a COA from the New York Mets authenticating Beltran wore this jersey during his three home run game on May 12th, 2011. There is also a LOA from JSA (Z64066) for his signature.

The next item are a pair of road gray New York Mets pants that Beltran wore on the May 9th – May 15th road trip and collected by a Mets representative on May 15th. Beltran played in five of the six games and went 4-18 with a double, three home runs and six RBI. These Majestic pants have blue piping down each side of the leg and the inner waist lining has the team strip tag that reads “15 Beltran 35-4 37 OB ’11 P3” and the Majestic tag. The front has two buttons and a zipper and belt notches. The pants display moderate use and have a team repair on the right knee. These pants come with a COA from the New York Mets authenticating these pants use by Beltran. Please note that the COA references “During 5/5/11 – 5/15/11 Roadtrip”. The Mets were at home from May 5th to May 8th and didn’t start their road trip until May 9th.

The next item in this lot is a black Mets hat worn by Beltran during the first part of the 2005 season. That was collected by MLB Authentication on May 16th, 2005 following the Mets 9-2 victory over the Cincinnati Reds at Shea Stadium. This hat has the raised interlocking “NY” sewn on in blue, white and orange on the front of the cap. The back of the hat has the embroidered MLB logo in blue, white and orange and Beltran signed his name in blue marker on the gray underside of the brim. This hat shows solid game use and comes with a MLB Authenticated hologram (MT00439922) for the game use and a LOA from the New York Mets that authenticate the hat’s game use by Beltran and his signature.

The next item are a pair of batting gloves that Beltran wore on September 28th, 2008 during the last ever game at Shea Stadium. Beltran used these gloves to hit his final home run at Shea Stadium in the bottom of the sixth inning. These Nike Sphere gloves are blue and black with silver accents with the left glove having “BELTRAN” on the wrist and the right glove having “15” on the wrist. They show excellent use with game wear on the palms. These batting gloves have been individually authenticated by MLB and come with individual holograms (BB916939 – Left & BB916940 – Right).

The final two items in this lot is a blue Belt and a blue wrist band. The blue belt is leather and has “15” hand written in black marker on the inside. This item comes with a LOA from Steiner Sports. The Nike wristband is blue and has the Nike swoosh and “15” in white.
