Hall of Fame manager Casey Stengel has signed and heavily inscribed this Official American League Joseph E. Cronin baseball. Stengel, at once a ubiquitous and singularly unique personality in baseball, was one of the most successful managers in the history of the game. He led the New York Yankees to seven World Series titles in 12 years, and saw only two seasons in the Bronx without a World Series appearance. Later, Stengel was coaxed out of retirement to be the first manager of the New York Mets, and to this day is the only man with his number retired by both existing New York teams.

Stengel has signed the sweet spot of this baseball, adding the inscriptions “1969” and “Hall of Fame 1966” beneath his signature. Other inscriptions on this ball include “Hit 2 Home Runs in 1923 World Series”, “Manager in World Series 1947, ’50-’51-’52-’53-’55-’56-’57-’58 + 1960”, “1910-1931 Active Player B.A.-.284 F.A. -964 H.R. 60 Outfielder Threw Lefthand Bat Lefthanded”, “Manager N.Y. Yankees 1949-1960”, and “Active World Series Record 1916-1922 + ’23 B.A. - .393 F.A. -950”. The signatures on this ball have been written in blue pen. This item comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (AE05258).
