Chicago Cubs phenom Kris Bryant was coming off an already stellar season in 2015, when he won the National League Rookie of the Year Award by hitting 29 home runs and driving in 99 in his debut campaign. In 2016, the third baseman took his game to another level as he won the National League MVP with his 39 home runs, 102 RBI and .292 batting average, all while leading the Chicago Cubs to their first World Series title since 1908.

During the June 27th, 2016 game between the Cubs and Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Bryant made baseball history using this offered Chandler KB17 model bat. He became the first player in Major League history to hit three home runs and two doubles in the same game as the Cubs outlasted the Reds 11-8 and set Bryant on the path to his National League MVP season. Bryant hit a first inning double to left field scoring Jason Heyward, a third inning solo home run, a three-run home run in the fourth inning, a sixth inning double and an eighth inning solo home run to complete his historic night.

This all-black Chandler bat displays heavy game use and has a large crack from the lower handle to the lower barrel that was damaged the following game on June 28th in Cincinnati in the top of the first inning. There are numerous ball marks, ball stitch impressions, white leather scuffs and cleat imprints present on the barrel. There is a coating of pine tar that covers the lower barrel and lower handle. The gold Chandler logo is affixed to the lower barrel and there is a mark on the handle that identifies the grain, which has been mandatory per Major League Baseball for all maple bats since 2009. On the knob is “KB17” and “17” hand written in silver marker. “17” is also handwritten in blue marker on the cupped end of the barrel. Bryant has signed his name in bold silver marker on the barrel and added the inscriptions “Game Used 6-27-16 1st in MLB History”, “5-5 3 HRs 2 Doubles” and “6 RBI 4 Runs 16 TB”. This bat comes with a MLB Authenticated hologram (JB780285) authenticating that the bat was broken during the first inning of the July 28th game and a Fanatics hologram (ZZ0020747) authenticating Bryant’s signature and inscriptions. Also included is a Kris Bryant signed COA.
