With a pair of Cy Young awards already to his name, Los Angeles Dodgers’ southpaw Clayton Kershaw has established himself as arguably one of the top pitchers in baseball today. The dominant left-hander swung this game-used Marucci TH17-A model bat during the 2009 season that saw Kershaw go 8-8 with a sterling 2.79 ERA in only his second season in the league.
This offered Marucci bat displays outstanding use and is un-cracked. Kershaw had 59 plate appearances in 2009, sporting a pitcher-like batting average of .104. Kershaw did collect five hits and scored two runs as this bat still has many ball marks, stitch impressions, white leather scuffs and cleat marks on the barrel. There is a light coating of pine tar on the handle and the date of manufacture “8/17/09”, Kershaw’s number “22” (in white) and the length “4” and weight “1.5” are stamped on the knob. The barrel has a cupped end. This is a tremendous early-career gamer from one of baseball’s best pitchers and it comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA (1B14255) and has been graded a perfect GU 10. Please note that this lot has a 25% Buyer’s Premium. Goldin Auctions will be donating 10% of the winning bid price to The Jackie Robinson Foundation.
