Graded 70 EX+ 5.5 by SGC. Hall of Famer, in his Rookie Card appearance. Among a total of forty-one copies recorded in SGC’s census reporting, just nine examples have attained higher tiers. The delicate masterpieces from this vintage issue are seldom seen in top condition. Long assumed to have had their origins as the Imperial Tobacco Company's Canadian version of baseball's T206, the splendid collectibles known as "C55" convey an incomparable sense of the early game. The offered specimen, depicting hockey pioneer Georges Vezina, is an enviably well-preserved representative of its fragile type. Its colors remain bright and nicely defined, and the corners reveal just moderate, clean wear. The cardback print is bold and fully legible, only mildly affected by a few small spots of toning. This is the revered, glorious issue's "key" card, in impressive Excellent-plus condition.
