The 1951 World Series would be a turning point in MLB history. With two wide-eyed rookies in Mickey Mantle and Willie Mays, baseball as we know it was about to change. Offered is a creamy off-white Official American League baseball featuring an extensive ensemble of 30 signatures from members of the 1951 World Champion New York Yankees. Headed up by Hall of Famer Joe DiMaggio on the sweet spot, a commonly seen clubhouse which is indeed authentic on this ball as it descends from former player Johnny Sain as notated on the south panel with the "#11" included. Other notable signers include: Bob Kuzava, Bob Cerv, Jim Brideweser, Joe Ostrowski, Stubby Overmire, Hall of Famer Yogi Berra, Vic Raschi, Irv Noren, Gil McDougald, Johnny Sain, Tom Morgan, Gene Woodling, Bobby Brown, Ralph Houk, Johnny Hopp, Bill Miller, Andy Carey, Billy Martin (4/10), Hank Bauer, Joe Collins, Eddie Lopat, Art Schallock, Johnny Mize, Charlie Silvera, Hall of Famer Phil Rizzuto and more. The ball grades Excellent, is cream colored, with signatures averaging "8." Easily one of the nicest 1951 team signed official spheres to ever hit the hobby! Accompanied by a full Letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA (AC00724) & JSA (Z33255).
