Recently elected Hall of Famer Chipper Jones won his only batting title during the 2008 season, when he bested all National Leaguers with a .364 average. As is custom, the batting champions in each league are presented with a silver Louisville Slugger bat. While this offered silver bat was not presented to Chipper Jones for his batting title, this offered silver bat was however used for the testing of the engraving that would appear on the actual bat presented to Jones. The engraving on this full-size hollow silver bat has “BATTING CHAMPION 2008 NATIONAL LEAGUE B.A. .364” engraved three times in three different sizes on the barrel. The Louisville Slugger logo is etched on the lower barrel with “CHIPPER JONES GENUINE LOUISVILLE SLUGGER” engraved four times on the barrel as well. This is a great collector’s item commemorating Chipper’s only season he won the batting title.
