Ted Williams is immortalized in this stunning original artwork by the sports artist Vernon Wells, the father of Toronto Blue Jays All-Star Vernon Wells III. Williams, the Hall of Fame leftfielder for the Boston Red Sox, is portrayed three times on this artwork, from which Williams’ 1992 Upper Deck Heroes #36 card was derived. Williams is depicted in his home jersey making an easy toss from left field, at the end of his swing in his road grays and leaning on a bat in a zip-up road jersey. “WILLIAMS” appears across the top of this artwork in red and blue letters.
This fantastic artwork is a grand tribute to the player many designate as the greatest hitter who ever lived. With 521 career home runs, 19 All-Star appearances, two MVP awards, and an MLB-record .482 on-base percentage, Williams case as the greatest ever must be taken seriously. Williams was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1966, with 93.4% of the vote on his first ballot. This artwork measures 23.5 x 18 inches and comes in a 30.5 x 24.5 inch framed display.
