This attractively designed box lid once protected two dozen five-cent packs of 1948 Leaf Boxing cards, a popular issue billed as "Knock Out Bubble Gum." The 6-1/2" x 7-3/4" piece (which measures 1-1/2" in height) showcases a red-white-and-blue motif centered about a fighter in action, with prominent notations used as visual embellishment. Having survived the years in attractive, fundamentally intact form, the item exhibits favorable quality with standard wear and a single, unobtrusive staple reinforcing one end. A very scarce counter-sales display piece, dramatically recalling one of the pugilistic specialty's most cherished card sets!
