Walt “Clyde” Frazier was the No. 5 overall pick of the New York Knicks in the 1967 NBA Draft. Drafted out of Southern Illinois, the point guard became the floor general for the Knicks’ and was dubbed “Clyde” for his similar style hat worn by Warren Beatty in his role as Clyde Barrow in the hit 1967 film Bonnie and Clyde. Frazier was a key member of the only two NBA titles won by the Knickerbockers in 1970 and 1973.

Offered is this very rare game used New York Knicks home jersey worn by Frazier between the 1972-1975 seasons. Manufactured by Gerry Cosby of New York, NY, this white durene jersey features “NEW YORK” and Frazier’s retired number “10” sewn on the front in orange and blue tackle twill. The Knicks switched to a mesh jersey in 1976. The manufacturer’s tag is sewn on the inside back collar, but the size tag has been removed but deemed to be an approximate size 42. The back of the jersey has “FRAZIER” sewn on in blue tackle twill above his number “10”, which is sewn on in orange and blue tackle twill. Frazier has signed his name in black marker on the front “0” and inscribed “To Mike” and “Clyde”. The jersey can be dated to the 1972-75 years based on the Cosby style tag with the following address as part of its design: "Gerry Cosby, Athletic Outfitters, 3 Pennsylvania Plaza, New York, NY, 10001". This address was added to the tag sometime around 1971-72 from the previous address. This jersey displays moderate game use with some discoloration from washing affecting both sides and around the collar and comes with a LOA from Mears, who have graded this jersey an A7 and a LOA from long-time New York Knicks trainer Mike Saunders for the game use. There is also a COA from JSA (V16311) for the signature.
